Rustic Winter Festival of Trees card

Hello, the Christmas card is up here! I know you are distracted by the two handsome guys in the other picture, so I'll just wait for you to look at them. That is my son and his son. Yep Pride and Joy, known as Steve and Eric.

OK, ready for the card? Sure, sure, it is cute too. This is the Festival of Trees and Tree Punch bundle that is featured in the Holiday Catalog for just $28, shown in Early Espresso ink and embossing powder. I also used the wonderful burlap ribbon--which I cut in half, the long way, and pulled lots of threads out of it to give it loads of texture.

I added dots of Dazzling Details in gold to the front tree and popped it up on dimensionals. This is the card I swapped at Unite&Excite event Stampin' Up! sponsored in Chicago area on September 6th. So I can attest that it is a good one for making multiples, and there aren't any bumpy buttons that will add to the postage expense.

I can't find my pictures from the event, maybe I loaded them onto my Ipad? I'll keep looking! It was great fun, networking with other area demonstrators. I got to talk about Stamp Clubs and made the group laugh, and I was limited to 7 minutes, so I don't think I put anyone to sleep. I'm counting it as a success. I left the event and went straight to the airport to meet my darling grandson, so definitely an exciting day!

More photos to come--Happy Stamping!

Just think about that!

We were enjoying a perfectly lovely afternoon, talking about this and that, when Joan stopped all conversation by stating "it's less than 3 months til Christmas." And that is how lunch with my friends goes from fabulous to frozen!

It really doesn't matter how many days, or weeks or months, it's just that we are counting down already. Yikes!

For the crafters, we love our Holiday stamps and the festive colors and products, but we don't love deadlines!

I made these fabulous star tags for every Stamp Club member who made a purchase in September. If you would like to join us, there is still a little bit of room in Stamp Club and I would love to fill it! Just $15 a month and we make 3 great projects, 9 months remaining. Act NOW!! Just leave a comment or shoot me an email! Every member gets one month as hostess with at least $25 free product of their choice! You may attend club, at my home, on the first Wednesday of each month. Or by mail, I will send your card kits following our club meeting.

If I haven't seen you in person lately, let me introduce you to Eric, my grandson. He appears very deep in thought, listening to his tiger friend.

Happy Stamping,

A gorgeous golden wedding card

I made a pretty card for a wedding this past weekend.  The Big News stamp set is perfect for this, you may recognize Gold SoirĂ©e DSP (designer series paper) and Gold Glimmer Paper along with a retired (?) embossing folder and the wonderful Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and a bit of ribbon.  The card was fine, but it needed a little embellishment. . .oh how I wish we still offered these beautiful ribbon roses! I have a pack in my stash so I use them on cards I make to give away, not designed for classes.

I am experimenting this morning, posting from my IPad, and the photo hasn't been edited nicely, but maybe this will allow me to tie all my social media together on one device and the blog won't get abandoned. It is so much easier to pop photos to Instagram! If you miss me, check there!

I am wrapping up a couple challenges given by Shelli, co-founder of Stampin' Up! at convention. I need two brand new customers before the end of September. If you're a fan or a follower but have never shopped with me, I would love the opportunity to turn you into a customer! Shop online at www.dtollaksen.stampinup.net or email me at dtollaksen at wideopenwest dot com and I'll have a card kit for you to make this lovely wedding card!

Happy stamping,

Join me, Hello Fall!

A little glitz, a little ink, a bit of stamping, a lot of autumn colors. . . we will be putting it all together to create this Fall Collage. Check your calendar and clear your schedule so you can come stamp with me next Tuesday, September 22 at 7 pm, BUT if you can't make it then, you still have options!

You can buy a kit, which I can mail to you, for no extra charge OR you can schedule a workshop for you and your friends to create this fun collage at your place or mine. And if you are someplace fun and warm, like Phoenix or Maui, we need to talk! But if you are anywhere in Chicagoland, I am definitely ready and willing to bring this project to you!

This darling collage fits in a 8" x 10" frame or 8-1/2" x 11" frame that you provide; I have had great success at TJMaxx. The frames with broken glass are perfect, they are generously discounted and we don't want glass for our project--win-win!

Call, email or leave a comment, I will save a spot for you!

Happy Stamping!
