Number two in this series . . . this is a Note Card, using pre-made card bases and envelopes. I absolutely love this smaller version of card, it is a bit easier to "fill" the card and design something cute, on the fly.

We used Forever Fern bundle to stamp the images and die-cut the sprigs. The gold highlights just make this card pop!

If you have ever thought about getting a discount on everything you want from the new catalog, now is the time to jump on it. Stampin' Up! offers the "starter kit" with no strings attached. You get to select $125 of product PLUS a free bundle (free shipping!) and a box of business supplies. After you "join" you can stamp and craft to your heart's content, no commitment whatsoever. But if you still want more products, you will enjoy a 20% discount for up to 3 more months, no hassles. If you want to create a small (or big) business, just hit the quarterly minimum ($300) and continue to enjoy the discount. Or slip away with no problems, no hard feelings. Join here or email me for more info.
As much as I enjoy owning a variety of supplies, beautiful cards can be made with a limited inventory. The next few cards I share are all made with notecards that are pre-cut, scored and have matching envelopes. They make it easy to grab and create. Of course, this version has been textured with an embossing folder, enamel dots have been added, a cardstock die cut is the focal point and the sentiment has been die cut--but the dies and stamps come from Forever Fern, a coordinated bundle, so the coordination is perfect!

The 2020-21 catalog is filled with options, fresh and trendy. Let me know if you need your own copy!
Oh my goodness, I had such a good day on Friday. I bent the social distancing rules like a crazy Gen Z-er. I left my house! I went to a friend's house! I went in her house! We sat at an arm-length from one another and we stamped! There was much hand-washing and no hugging, but we laughed and laughed!

I participated in a Leadership Retreat with a Stampin' Up! top Stamper. She couldn't do the live event we wanted, but she shipped all the participants a giant box filled with treats, projects and more. So we got together to watch the videos and assemble the projects. I have to tell you, we couldn't watch the videos because we needed to talk! It was such an emotional experience to be with 2 friends and laugh the day away! I came home and collapsed. This has been such a crazy two months, fast and slow. But when we look forward to "getting back to normal" I can tell you -- it is all about the people.
So here are just a taste of the projects. These fun and fast cards feature the Stampin' Up! In Colors for 2020-2022: Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight, BumbleBee and Cinnamon Cider. Do you like how the Magenta Madness perfectly matches my hanging flowers?

Now is the time to order your re-inkers and re-stock your card stock for the out-going In Colors. Visit my online store to grab them, as they will be gone for sure on June 2 and maybe sooner if stocks are depleted. No promises!

Don't be lulled into a crafting craze and miss the fact that the new catalog and new products are coming and many lovely items will retire forever as of June 2. Check out the Last Chance Products before they're gone. Some are even discounted!
One of the highlights of my schedule is my visit with my Mom at her library. I offer a class at the library for card makers, we create 4 cards every month. I get to have an afternoon with my Mom, we get together with crafters and we make new friends. What could be better? What could go wrong? Well, a pandemic could come by.

These friends are texting me, lonely or our class. So we worked it out with the library for a curbside pick-up and a class to-go. They will have to use their own stamps, but they can make it work. And for those that don't have stamps, they will have to borrow, maybe from Mom!

If you are interested in a curbside pick-up class (or in the mail!) this foursome is available to you too! Give me a click here and I will send you the details!
Furlough? Nope. Downsized? Never. Work from home? Oh yea! Since forever!

I know the stay-at-home order has forced everyone to make adjustments, and for sure, I miss my social life! Such as it was. No book club. No lunch with friends. No ladies night.

But my job? Still good. Other than the stamp club, the demonstrator meetings, convention and all the stamp classes. Looking on the bright side, I can share a project via FaceBook Live, I can make packets and challenge my stampers to create, I can adjust and still treat my crafty friends to some good creative outlets.

This card makes me a little blue because I just won this bundle at a demonstrator event. It isn't really my style, the ginko flowers are beautiful but just didn;t inspire me to order them. Until I used them. And now I am sad that the set is retiring from our catalog. Stampin' Up! does a refresh every spring, some things have to go to make room for all the new and fab sets that we will be offering.

If you need a gorgeous bundle or any supplies at all, pop over for some online shopping. If you will be needing the new catalog, let me know!

Enjoy this lovely Beautifully Braided bundle and have a happy Mother's Day!
It has been a month of "stay-at-home" order from Governor Pritzker. Everyone here is staying home. Keeping well. Working from our own corner of the house, yelling at the dog to quit barking.

Demonstrators will share products you can gather from your stamp space prior to the event so you can create along with us. If you don't have the exact supplies, gather similar items you do have. Then share what you created along with us in the group. All of the videos will be posted to the group, so you can watch or re-watch at your convenience.

Joining the Facebook Global SU Share Fair is by invitation only. If you have not already received an invite on FB, please contact me to receive your invitation. You will need to accept the invitation to join the group. You must have a Facebook account to join the group.

We are looking forward to sharing super awesome projects with you! Join us!

My new IPhone likes to give me a weekly report on my screen usage, it never bothered me before, because I just don't use it very much. Thanks to Coronavirus, my numbers are soaring!

This scrappy card is CASEd from an Australian demonstrator, and it has hit the internet like a tidal wave, or a pandemic! We all have scraps and we all hate to toss them, so this gives us an opportunity to make the best of the leftovers.

I am trying to synchronize my devices so I can make a demo video of this on my FB business page: Stamp with Dee. Just search for @stampwithdee on facebook and like and follow so you can catch it!

Happy Stampin,
On To Adventure stamp set. . . do you ever walk past a mirror and think, horrified, wait, what is my Mom doing here. . . nope, that is me. Yikes. I think I'm like, IDK, 30 something, right? Nope. Not at all. So while the geezers in the On To Adventure stamp set make me snicker, after looking closer, they just look like a reflection. LOL

I'm going to let you study the fella in the flowered shirt, maybe he's a Parrot-head, or a tourist or your husband (or all of those!) but he is super cute and funny on this "Smile" card.
A while back, I was given some clear epoxy circles, an oddball find on Amazon. I have no idea what they are meant for, maybe furniture things, you know, under a sheet of glass on a dresser? But they make a cute focal point on a project!

I used a circle punch to select a bumblebee from the free Sale-a-bration paper, then a larger circle punch to create a gold circle. I layered the two paper products on the epoxy circle and used a bit of bakers twine to anchor the bee to the card.

Poppy Parade -- when was the last time you pulled out this fun tomato-ey color? I stamped some flower outlines, color on color, using Poppy Parade ink, all over the card stock.

The DSP (designer series paper) is the same set that has the bee. The white/gold/black patterns are gorgeous.

There are a couple sequins scattered on the card, it looks like I lost a few between our class and my photography!

While you have time on your hands, you might want to just wander around the Amazon world, see what you can find! And have a look at the Stampin' Up! catalog for beautiful options!

Happy Stampin,

Are you looking for a bit of inspiration? Just a little something you can put together without hurting your overloaded COVID brain?

This is a layout that anyone cap CASE (copy and steal everything) in a flash.

A neutral base, Whisper White shown; a panel to cover most of the base, Petal Pink cut to 4" x 5-1/4" and adhered.

Then a pretty piece (maybe a scrap!) of DSP (designer series paper) cut 5-1/4" x 1-1/2 or 2 inches, depending on what you have! And adhered.

Then a sentiment on Whisper White, and punched or die-cut. Find another similar shape, this is the Starburst Punch and 1-3/4" circle punch.

There is a bit of black in my DSP, so I used black to pop the sentiment shapes, and then used dimensionals to adhere. Then I chose a coordinating ribbon, this one has silver running through it, so it adds a bit of bling. At this point, I stopped, but seriously, I should have added some rhinestones, right? And if I had the forethought, the Petal Pink panel could stand to be embossed with an embossing folder!

Please enjoy your hobby right now, while we are all safe at home, avoiding the pandemic.

Happy stamping,

Are you feeling fine, but crazy from living in a space that you used to love?

How much do you miss the annoying people you used to work with? Even if those people are the post office clerks, grocery store clerks, pharmacy folks and nosy neighbors?

I have shopped once and spent the whole trip worrying about the freezer door handles being the death of me. Not fun.

My regular monthly meeting of demonstrators had to be cancelled, so we swapped cards by mail. Fun, but just not the same! I was going to make 10 posts to share them with you, but heck, I'll just drop them all in this one post. If you want, you can come back 10 times and look at each one on a separate trip. LOL
My photo skills are not great, so there is one shot of each card, but every one of them is a fun fold card, so imagine them opening up, creatively!
When making a card in a hurry, go to your stash of fancy papers: anything glimmery, metallic or shiny! And then a stamp set that has an all-in-one sentiment & image. Here I used Time for Tags stamp set, colored pencils to brighten up the bird and retired acetate. Oh, a pop of color and the medallion punch to back up my label.

Super simple!
Upon reflection, this may not be my favorite card. . . of even the one day. I was trying to use the beautiful Leaf Ribbon and the Decor Masks that Stampin' Up! offers, but I'm not sure the whole thing really works. Maybe it is the sentiment from Rooted in Nature stamp set that isn't working for me, or just the ribbon is looking odd. Anyway, we made this card in Stamp Club and it gave everyone a chance to use the masks and ink together. So, a technique, if not a great card!

Every time I make a card, it starts with the 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of cardstock, folded in the middle. And then it gets interesting. Stamps, inks, layers, textures, embellishments. So many options, and so many possibilities.

In this case I designed a card that chopped off a piece of the basic card base, just trimmed one inch off the front. But then I layered a strip of Designer Paper on the inside of the card, so it is a very simple peek-a-boo situation. I used the Stitched Nested Label dies to create the black and white labels and stamped a sentiment. I added some silver trim and Enamel Dots to add some textural interest. A fun easy card to create.

If you want to speed things up or are not a Big Shot owner, you can use punches or just square cut elements to create your sentiment and use only enamel dots or rhinestones for your embellishments. Either way, the card is fun and interesting, with a nice alternative style.
Is life/crafting really happening if it isn't documented online? If I don't blog about it, is it really valid? YES! There is so much going on that doesn't make it into the blog! If you want to participate, you are so welcome to join Stamp Club! If you feel like you can't make it to my house on the first Wednesday of the month but you still want to make the cards and be a member, I am happy to send you the card kits. Just shoot me a line and let me know and we can make a plan and work out the deal!

These are some of the cards we made in February. The top one is Night of Navy cardstock mounted on Crumbcake card base. We heat embossed the Lovely Lattice stamp using Versamark ink and gold embossing powder. Some of us wanted to see how the Watercolor Pencils would look on the dark cardstock, so we added some color to the flowers. Beauty!
This easy card is just a card base of Mossy Meadow and a piece of Petal Promenade DSP with a border of Whisper White. I used the Darling Label punch kit which includes 6 stamps for all occasions and all of them fit perfectly in the punch. This is a super easy and beautiful card. If you are in my local Stamp Club you did not get to make this card, it was a swap I made for my Crestwood Club, a little easier for beginner stampers!

For a little change of pace, we did a fun-fold card using the Amazing Life stamp set and the Botanical Butterflies DSP. Just fold the front of the card right down the center, to the outside. Then the Lemon Lime cardstock panel is attached to the folded panel and lays over the front of the card. Simple but adds nice interest.

There is one more card but I can't find the image. Hopefully I can dig it up and share it soon.
Hello and welcome to my blog. It always feels like I am talking to myself, that this is going out into cyberspace with no audience.
Did I mention that I had knee replacement surgery? Well, it was 10 weeks ago and my physical therapist says I am ready to graduate. So happy days are here! Not that I am ready for marathons or even fast stair climbing, but I will have my schedule back and I won't be wiped out by an hour of intense knee rehab! Those of you who know me are well aware that an hour of intense exercise is not my cup of tea!

We had about 30 kids at the door for trick or treating, and I gave everyone a selection of toys, pencils and candy. It's funny how they check to see what they received then look you in the face and state: "a pencil?" Thanks

Not sure if that is sincere or completely sarcastic. LOL

These cuties were made special for Eric and Layla, my grands. Eric loves mail, so I sent him a couple Halloween envelopes. Hope it made his day! They are a bit fussy, way more than a typical card. Nothing hard, just scoring and folding, but lots of layers and use of great big googly eyes.

Please join us for a morning of Holiday Cards on Saturday Nov 24. I offer this event every year and it is a ton of fun. You bring one nice card and the supplies for 17 friends to make your card. Then we go from table to table copying each card, eating candy, then eating lunch! And everybody gets a nice catalog item as a raffle prize and a swag bag of crafting goodies. All this for just $25 RSVP right away so you can design your card (Free design help if you want it!)

Hope to see you there, Happy Stampin'
We have passed the 100 day mark, you know, on FaceBook, when the holiday fans post that it is 100 days til Christmas?!

Hard to fathom, seeing as we just had a 93* day this week, but now it is cooler and autumn seems to be upon us, so the holidays can't be far behind.

Thankfully my holiday fans are also working in advance to make their Christmas cards and keep their stash full!

These three cards are all CASEd from talented stampers and/or the catalog, but kept nice and "mailable." So there aren't any bulky bows, deep layers or rhinestones--these embellishments tend to incur additional postage or need to be hand cancelled, thereby slowing down delivery.

The first card makes me smile. Something about party lights is just so festive and this Making Christmas Bright bundle makes it easy too! There is a punch that cuts the light and the socket, separately, so we jazzed it up with the gold glimmer paper.

The Tags & Tidings bundle is so cool, there is one stamp and one die, but they create 16 elements in one pass! So the cute little gift on the little tag, the label and the oval label are just 3 of the 16 stamps and label shapes that can be cut in one fast pass! A little festive Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Tufted Embossing Folder make this card easy and elegant!

The final card is jazzed up by another folder, the Tin Tiles Embossing Folder! So gorgeous! And a nice coordinated punch and sentiment make this come together easy-peasy! Grab the Labels to Love stamp set in the main catalog and match it with the Everyday Label punch for year-round sentiments.
Major surgery = major life event! So I got new knee. Lots of people have surgery and that's a fact of life. But when it is MY life, it takes a lot more time and energy to deal with it! So next time, YOU have the event and I will just go on with my life and send you a dinner and a card.

Anyway, these cards are from the AUGUST Christmas Card Club. Realize that the ladies who are in the club made these cards and enjoyed the session as advertised -- on the scheduled date and we each made 12 cards, 3 designs x 4 of each. Only the internet was deprived of seeing them, as I had to move right along to other events, prepping and holding, while the old blog suffered in silence.

It can take a major mind shift to design and implement Christmas cards in August! Before the Holiday Catalog products are available and while the neighborhood pools are still open every day!

After searching Pinterest for inspiration, these three are the holiday cards we made. The Sheltering Tree stamp set is so versatile. Seriously, if you only have this set, you can make birthday, sympathy, christmas, thinking of you, Home Decor frames and more. This is a super versatile, beautiful set.

The second and third card were made to highlight a limited edition stamp set that was only available in August, sorry you missed it. But they are easily modified to work with any holiday sets you already have. Just select a cute small element, to sub for the pretty bell and a Script font holiday sentiment and you are all set!

October Christmas Card Club will be held Mon Oct 1, so if you need a stack of holiday cards, drop me a line or give me a call! There is always room for you at the table!
Strength, flexibility, endurance . . . yep, I kinda needed help in the joint health department. And I am so grateful to those of you who sent prayers and well wishes following my surgery. I have a nice new bionic knee and my days are filled with physical therapy and rest. And that is why the WWW and the blog are not at the top of my to-do list.

But my creative needs don't rest, so I have been making things and I haven't cancelled or postponed any of my scheduled events. It is really lonely to sit home after surgery, can't drive, can't walk! So I kept making card kits and planning projects!

This particular beauty is a total CASE from the catalog, except that I didn't have the right DSP to copy exactly. Give the catalog a good browse and you'll find gorgeous projects to Copy And Steal too!

OK, I am off to practice my knee bending, squatting and stair climbing (also known as laundry in the basement).
When I present the monthly card making class at the Crestwood Library, there are new crafters and experienced crafters. And they only pay $5 for 4 cards! So there is a big planning situation -- simple enough but interesting and budget friendly (for me). But it is definitely one of my favorite offerings, because my Mom is one of the regulars!

Last month we made these cards and one more, that I seem to have lost LOL. Sometimes I do some of the stamping for them, like the candles on the first card. Because the yellow and green candles use the same stamp, new people and big classes can't seem to manage cleaning the stamp before dipping it into another color ink. So I did the stamping ahead to protect my ink pads, that helps keep my costs down too!

I also try to make the cards lovely and interesting without a lot of embellishments or designer series paper, although these papers are so gorgeous, I really wanted to try to tempt the ladies into investing in some supplies of their own! So far, they are happy to come to the class and let me do the investing. Although I have to admit, some of them have asked me to do the class every week. But I know what happens then, we don't have a sold out class ever again!

So for now, it is time to pack up my goodies and head back to Crestwood for the August class. Look out Stampers, we will be having fun Monday night!
